We're happy that you have found us on the internet!

Before we start we should make sure that you are looking at the right website. We help people in the S8 postcode and close surrounding areas. If you're in another part of Sheffield then there might be a foodbank closer to you. You can find out here.

Before we can help you we need someone who knows you to contact us on your behalf. This is called a referral - it helps us work out how best we can help you.

How do I refer someone for help

We accept referrals from a very wide range of organisations both statutory or in the community/voluntary sector.

It doesn't matter whether you are a local organisation or a local branch of a national organisation - please do get in touch and we till try our best to help your clients.

Please note that we DON'T operate a voucher based referral system and that the office address is NOT the address from which we distribute food parcels. The best way to refer to us is by phone - 07580 516 512. That's the quickest way for us to get a full picture of your client's needs and how we can meet them. If there's no answer please do leave a voicemail with your name and telephone number and someone will return your call as soon as possible. Please don't leave the client's details on the phone because we sometimes struggle to hear them from the voicemail.


Once you have made the referral we will contact the client to arrange for them to collect their food. We can provide Halal bags and bags suitable for special diets (e.g. vegetarian, gluten free, lactose free). Please let us know if you are referring someone who has particular dietary needs.


 Please note that we will try to deliver to clients who genuinely can't collect food parcels but we are a voluntary organisation, we have limited capacity and and we can't guarantee that a delivery will be possible. We always encouracge clients to collect food themselves whenever possible because of the extra items that are available at foodbank sessions.

If necessary you can refer people by email - you can download a copy of our referral form here and then email it to us using the contact page. That can take longer - it would be helpful if you could text the referrals phone number (above) so we know the referral is on its way.
